From the Alltel Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas
The big pre-show news was a press release stating the retirement of
the TROLLWEIGHT TITLE and of course the match-up between Zombie and
Matango for the US title. Here are the complete results:
REVELATIONS vs ECLIPSE
After being cancelled on Nitro and rescheduled, this match did not
fail to entertain.
The big man known as Eclipse took it to
Revelations and had him down for several two counts.
The match went
back and forth and Eclipse did hit a DDT followed by a Powerbomb on
Rev, but Varjay
came to ringside and distracted the ref long enough
for Rev to blindside Eclipse with a pair of brass knuckles.
Winner:Revelations
VARJAY vs CHAMELEON
For every move that Varjay had, Chameleon had an answer and they
went back and forth. It went from
the more technical moves to a flat
out brawl. Revelations came down to help out Varjay, but got a
superkick to the mouth for his troubles. Chameleon hit Varjay with a
low blow and a pedigreee
for the win.
Winner:Chameleon
MONTY ROB vs HUSKER DU
One half of the NZWA Tag Team Champs got involved in a singles match
with NZWA's favorite hired gun.
This one was an out and out brawl
and these two beat the holy living shit out of each other from the
ring to the concession stand and back. Husker Du went for his
finisher the Fall From Grace, but Monty Rob
stepped out of the way.
Fett ran in at that point and they double teamed Husker Du. The ref
then called for the bell.
Winner by DQ: Husker Du
FETT vs MENTSKI
The other half of the NZWA tag champs took on Mentski in his first
solo contest in NZWA and the first
since his split with the
Degenerate Warrior. This match was no technical piece of work as you
could tell
Mentski just wanted to prove a point and he took it to
Fett. Mentski had Fett down and was going for the pin,
but the
Degenerate Warrior came down looking for some payback from the Tag
match at Nitro. The match
was thrown out and turned into a full
scale brawl as Monty Rob and Husker Du got involved. Security had to
come down and break up the after-match melee.
Winner: No contest.
ZOMBIE vs MATANGO:
This made was made just 48 hours prior to the event. It looked from
the outset to be a full scale
war. Matango came to ringside with the
lovely Kalee, but she seemed somewhat distracted the whole time.
The
match began and as Alberto distracted the ref, Kalee jumped up on
the apron behind Zombie and snapped
his neck back on the top ring
rope. Nightmare then ran to ringside and laid Zombie out with a
Kendo
stick shot to the head and rolled him into the ring and
Matango got the quick 1..2..3. You have to think that
Zombie won't
be pleased with this result.
Winner and new US champion: Matango
DEAD HARDY vs NIGHTMARE:
Co-owner of NZWA nightmare, having just screwed Zombie, came back
for a Heavyweight title shot. This one was
a brawl. Dead Hardy hit
several high risk top rope shots and Nightmare answered with a frog
splash and
a flying cross body block of his own. nightmare wore Dead
down and finally hit his nightmare driver, but before
he could go
for a pin ZOmbie interfered. Zombie was still reeling from the kendo
shot to the head
and nightmare laid him out only to be laid out by
Dead Hardy. Dead wasn't content to have nightmare down though
and he
hit a series of cintan bombs on nightmare and then set up a double
stack of tables and a ladder. He carried
nightmare up the ladder and
did a sit down powerbomb crashing nightmare through the tables.
Nightmare had to be
carried to the back afterwards.
Winner: Nightmare by DQ. Dead Hardy still NZWA HW champ.
