My husband Vic and I retired four years ago. At that time, since we
love golf,we decided to go to Myrtle Beach,S.C. for 2 months
and escape the Ontario winter. The next two years we stayed 3 months
and last year we stayed 5 months. Over the past 4 years we have met
and played golf with such a wonderful group of people who quickly
became good friends from both the United States and Canada.
This past year, Vic and I decided to organize a weekly mixed event
at the golf club and we decided to call it " SNOWBIRD TUESDAY".
Due to the wonderful participation and the help of many to help with
scorekeeping and collect the small fee which was given out in prize money-
This became a great success! Vic origionally thought that there might be a maximum
of 24 people attend and the numbers increased to 38! Friends and/or family
joined in when they came to visit and it gave everyone a chance to play with
people they may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
We played every Tuesday and in March he put all the New Brunswick people against
the Ontario people. Another time, all the ladies against the men. The Ladies won
hands down! However most of the time we played in groups of 3 or 4
and the winning groups split the money.
I wanted to put together a web page to share some of the pictures and bring back
some good memories. Thanks to Elsie, Claudia, Cindy, Arnold and Cliff for helping
in providing great pictures. I've included a couple of pictures of some of our
friends that didn't join us for Snowbird Tuesday but we are hoping they will next year.
I could never do this by myself but with the help of a friend that I met on the internet
who was willing to put it all together....it happened. I really appreciate the work
she has put into this page and hope these pictures bring back good memories.
We are looking forward to returning to Myrtle Beach next year and hope that all
of you will be back to join us.
