"Connective Tissue Diseases"

Personal Stories

"Sometimes a tradgedy or unwelcome change
can the best thing that has happened
because it's forced us to grow in
another direction to discover hidden
abilities and potentials within ourselves."

My name is Shirley Wright ... I am from Gadsden, Alabama.
I was diagnosed with Scleroderma in 1981 at U.A.B. in
Birmingham, Alabama. This is a very rare disorder although
there are many affected with it. So many people do not even
know what it is. I had never heard of it until I was
diagnosed with it myself. I decided that it was time to let
the people who suffer with these disorders tell their own
personal experience living with it on a daily basis. We need
to tell our stories so the public can become more educated
about them.If you have been diagnosed recently with a
Connective Tissue Disease...I do hope that these stories will
help you in some small way. If nothing will help you
to see that you are not "ALONE".

These pages are dedicated to people who have been
diagnosed with a Connective Tissue Disease.
These diseases can include the following...
